A further rush is expected on February 4 when tickets go on sale for a homecoming performance at Dublin's Croke Park.

At the front of the queue as fans began gathering outside the Ticketline office in Cardiff at 7am yesterday to get tickets for the June 29 gig, was Gary Pedersen, from Cardiff.

He said, "I'm a massive fan and have seen them twice already. When I heard they were coming to the Millennium Stadium I had to get tickets."

U2's UK tour dates are a sell out U2's UK tour has been completely sold out, after tickets went on sale at 9am this morning. All 260,000 tickets were snapped up for stadium shows in Manchester, London, Twickenham, Glasgow and Cardiff. The Vertigo tour kicks off in San Diego on 28 March and continues with over 50 shows throughout North America and Europe. The band will play Croke Park on the 24 June and tickets will go on sale on 04 February.
